  • Local Government jobs - local government (councils, unitary authorities etc, depending on where you live) are currently responsible for most public health provision within the UK
  • UK Civil Service  Jobs within the Civil Service including UK HSA and DFID.  This includes Scientist jobs.
  • Guardian Jobs - Healthcare  A variety of jobs advertised within public health and social care.
  • HSJ Jobs Healthcare vacancies including leadership and public health
  • BMJ - Public health jobs Vacancies from the British Medical Journal
  • American Public Health Association Vacancies across academia and health services in the US, mainly experienced hire, but some entry level.
  • New Scientist Jobs Jobs across all areas of public health and life sciences
  • Mailing list Public Health JISCMail has occasional jobs in public health
  • The supplier review 2019-20 for DFID (now FCDO) has a list on P.26 of all its main suppliers for  UK aid health work.  Try checking their websites for opportunities or set up alerts if the organisation looks interesting to you.

  • Stats Jobs Board Vacancies from the Royal Statistical Society

Global Health

There is no single place to find job vacancies in global health. Many positions are not advertised at all. The following websites usually have a large number of vacancies, but make sure you are proactive and search beyond just these sites.

  • 80,000 Hours has listings for jobs in 'Global Health & Development'
  • Third Sector Jobs and information on working in charities and NGOs.
  • Charity Jobs Vacancies mainly in the UK
  • Devex Large website with many relevant vacancies. Also has profiles of employers and career advice
  • ReliefWeb Humanitarian and development jobs worldwide.
  • Mercy Corps regularly advertise internships.
  • You will also find a list of 'implementing organisations' (which may have global health opportunities on their own websites) on this FCDO website page which lists current aid projects. Scroll down on the left-hand side to find the organisation list.
